As Borboletas de Portugal

The first book ever on the known butterflies from Portugal incl. those from Madeira and the Azores. The book was suggested by Vento Norte, an environmental association of NW Portugal which led the main author to start the work in 1996. After six years and in co-operation with colleagues from many countries, the book is ready for publication. It is indended for all with an interest in butterflies, beginners as well as more experiensed lepidopterists. The text in Portuguese with short English summaries to all chapters. In the systematic part of the book, each species is treated in the following format: Distribution; Description incl. wingspan; Variation; Biology (incl. Flight period. early stages, foodplants, habitat); Conservation status; Similar species; Selected bibliography. A colour leaflet is available upon request.
