MORNING SESSION.

The Senate met pursuant to adjournment.

The President in the chair.

Prayer by the Chaplain, Rev. Samuel Alexander.

A quorum present.

The journal of Saturday was read and approved.

Senator Spaunhorst, from the Committee on Ways and Means, Submitted the following report:

MR. PRESIDENT: Your Committee on Ways and Means, to which was referred,

House bill No. 956, entitled

An act to appropriate money,

Beg leave to report that they have considered the same, and recommend the adoption of the accompanying substitute.

Which was read.

The bill so reported, being
House bill No. 956, entitled

An act to appropriate money,

Was taken up, and the substitute recommended by the committee was read the first and second times and agreed to.

On motion of Senator Roseberry,

The rules were suspended, the bill read the third time, and passed by the following vote:

AYES-Senators Allen, Birch, Browne of Adair, Brown of Shelby, Carroll, Davis, Follenius, Headlee, Moore, Morrisson, Palmer, Ransom, Rollins, Roseberry, Southard, Spaunhorst, Vandivert and Waters-18.

NOES-Senators Blodgett, Filler, Gottschalk, Rogers, Todd and

Wornall-6.

Absent-Senators Buckland, Essex, Green, Lancaster, Morse and

Papen-6.

Absent with leave-Senators Benecke, Brockmeyer, Ittner and Reed-4.

The title of the bill was read and agreed to.

Senator Roseberry moved to reconsider the vote by which the bill passed, and to lay his motion to reconsider on the table;

Which was agreed to.

The following message from the House of Representatives was received, by Mr. Sutton, Chief Clerk:

MR. PRESIDENT: I am instructed by the House of Representatives to inform the Senate that there have been introduced into and passed by the House,

Concurrent resolution No. 119, entitled
Concurrent resolution of adjournment.
Also,

Concurrent resolution No. 120, entitled

Concurrent resolution concerning adjournment, and the re-districting of the State into Congressional and Electoral Districts. In which the concurrence of the Senate is requested.

Which was read.

House concurrent resolution No. 119, entitled
Concurrent resolution of adjournment,

Was taken up, and,

On motion of Senator Blodgett,

Laid over informally.

House concurrent resolution No. 120, entitled

Concerning adjournment and the re-districting of the State into Congressional and Electoral Districts,

Was taken up, read the first time, rules suspended, read the second time.

Senator Spaunhorst offered the following amendment:

Amend by striking out the preamble;

Which was read the first and second times and agreed to.

On motion of Senator Blodgett,

The rules were suspended, the concurrent resolution was read the third time, and passed by the following vote:

AYES-Senators Allen, Birch, Blodgett, Browne of Adair, Brown of Shelby, Carroll, Davis, Filler, Follenius, Gottschalk, Green, Headlee, Moore, Morrisson, Palmer, Papen, Ransom, Rollins, Roseberry, Southard, Spaunhorst, Todd, Vandivert and Wornall-24.

NOES-Senators Rogers and Waters-2.

Absent-Senators Buckland and Essex-2.

Absent with leave-Senators Benecke, Brockmeyer, Ittner, Lancaster, Morse and Reed-6.

The title of the concurrent resolution was read and agreed to.

Senator Filler moved to reconsider the vote by which the resolution passed, and to lay the motion to reconsider on the table; Which was agreed to.

On motion of Senator Roseberry,

The Senate took a recess until five minutes before 12 o'clock meridian.

ELEVEN O'CLOCK AND FIFTY-FIVE MINUTES.

After some time spent in recess, the President called the Senate to order.

The President announced a quorum present.

On motion of Senator Green,

House concurrent resolution No. 119, entitled
Concurrent resolution of adjournment,

Was taken up.

Pending the consideration of which,

The following message was received from the House of Representatives, by Mr. Hardin, Assistant Chief Clerk:

MR. PRESIDENT: I am instructed by the House of Representatives to inform the Senate that the House has taken up

House concurrent resolution No. 120, entitled

Concurrent resolution of adjournment, and to re-district the State into Congressional districts, with the Senate amendment thereto, And has concurred in Senaté amendment.

Also,

That the House has taken up and passed

Senate substitute for House bill No. 956, entitled

An act to appropriate money.

Which was read.

Senator Morrisson, from the Committee on Enrolled Bills, submitted the following report:

MR. PRESIDENT: Your Committee on Enrolled Bills would respectfully report that there have been presented to the Governor for his approval,

House bill No. 956, entitled

An act to appropriate money to defray the expenses of the called session of the 26th General Assembly, 1872, and to cover deficiency of the adjourned session of the 26th General Assembly.

Also,

House concurrent resolution No. 120, entitled

Concurrent resolution concerning adjournment, and the redistricting of the State into Congressional and Electoral Districts. Which was read.

The hour of 12 o'clock having arrived, it being the time set for the adjournment sine die, in compliance with

House concurrent resolution No. 120,

The President declared the Senate adjourned sine die.
