For expenses of transportation and distribution of the annuities to Winnebagoes and others, and of salt, tobacco, agricultural implements, tools, &c., and other incidental expenses not otherwise enumerated 20 1843 1000 20 1843 5,000 By the treaty of 1831, 20,000 dollars were stipulated to be paid to this tribe; 5,000 in August following the date of the treaty, and 5,000 dollars annually thereafter. By an oversight, the 5,000 dollars due in 1832 was not asked for. This sum is now required to meet the payment for that year. |
