Mr. Staples presented the remonstrance of S. H. Sherman and fifty-five others, citizens and voters of the town of Dover, protesting against the annexation of a portion of the town of Wilmington to the town of Dover;

Which was referred to the select committee consisting of the members from the county of Windham.

Mr. Kennedy introduced a bill entitled

Mr. Fisk offered the following joint resolution:

Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives, That his Excellency, the Governor, be and hereby is requested to correspond with the proper authorities in Canada, at his earliest convenience, and ask them to enforce the law, or take such measures as shall prohibit the destruction of lake shad or white fish by the use of pounds in the waters of Lake Champlain lying in that Province;

Which was read and adopted on the part of the House.

Mr. Jackson of Panton presented the petition of C. B. Strickland and sixty-nine others, praying for the enactment of a law granting the seven dollars per month State pay to members of the Veteran Reserve Corps ;

S. 5. An act to incorporate the trustees of the fund for aged and infirm clergymen of the Episcopal Church in the Diocese of Vermont;

Reported in favor of its passage, recommending that the House propose to the Senate to amend the bill by adding to the last section thereof the following words: and shall take effect from its passage.

The House agreeing thereto, said bill was read the third time and passed in concurrence with proposals of amend

ment.

Mr. Grover, from the same committee to whom was referred Senate bill entitled

S. 6. An act to incorporate the trustees of the fund for the support of the Bishop of the Episcopal Church in the Diocese of Vermont;

Reported in favor of its passage, recommending that the House propose to the Senate to amend the bill by adding to the last section thereof the following words: and shall take effect from its passage.

The House agreeing thereto, the bill was read the third time and passed in concurrence with proposals of amendment.
