This is an elegant and most correct facsimile reprint of the ery rare first edition of Burns' Poems. The impression is limited 600 copies, (being the extent of the original issne, all of which are numbered and signed by the enterprising printer, Mr. James McKie, the successor to John Wilson, the printer of the first edition. The whole of the copies have been subscribed for, with the is exception of a few secured by Messrs. W. & S. With the Poems is arven a pamphlet, entitled "Bibliotheca Burnsiana, or Title Pages and Imprints of the various Editions of the Life and Works of Burns in the private library of James McKie, Kilmarnock, prior to 164866," comprising 191 different articles.

The original of this scarce old Chronicle having come into the hands of the publishers, they considered it curious enough to merit reprint. They have accordingly prepared a facsimile impression, which is limited to 100 copies.

The compiler was evidently a Citizen of London, and he has noted many occurrences of interest in the history of the City as well as of the Kingdom. For some years previous to the period of publication (1552), the remarks are evidently those of an eyewitness. Among other matters will be found the following:
