This Letter is UNPUBLISHED and very characteristic. The following is a short extract:

"I am like the Evangelical definition of the wind, which 'goeth (bloweth) where it listeth, but no man knows whence it cometh or when it returneth.' Not having the fear of Phoebus before mine eyes I shall send you a parody on Sir W. Impressum Venetiis, in Ædibus Gregorii de Gregoriis, MDXXI. This noble volume of upwards of 1000 pages is not mentioned by Brunet, and so far as we can ascertain is unknown to all bibliographers. It is not in the British Museum. It is beautifully printed in the gothic letter, in red and black, and bears on the title the device and initials of A. Toresani de Asula, the father-in

law of the elder Aldus. It commences with a calendar and table of years, having appropriate woodcut illustrations; and other woodcuts (some of large size) and borders are also in different parts of the volume, at the commencement of the various sections, &c.
