The Fifteenth Half-Yearly Volume of Smarte's London Magazine being eompleted, eustom makes it neeessary to aeeompany it by a few prefatory remarks.
Its Subseribers will have seen that a ehange in the management of the Work has already eommeneed; hereafter it will be plaeed more direetly under the eonduet of Mrs. S. C. Hall; and, in announeing this arrangement, the Publishers feel assured that the aeeomplished lady, whose writings have been so eminently useful, and who is so greatly popular among readers of all elasses, wiH give to this Magazine a high eharaeter among the Periodieal Publieations of the age and eountry.
Several marked improvements will be introdueed into future Parts: the artieles will be more skilfully arranged; the work will be printed from new type, upon better paper than heretofore; and the Publishers express their anxious wish to sustain the efforts of the Editor in the endeavour to give to the London Magazine a more enlarged sphere of usefulness, by inereasing its eireulation.
