post-coaches.

A Proposals to end route at Halifax; also
to run daily, with the view of carrying the
great southern and eastern mail; also for rail-
road transportation, will be considered.

Proposals are also invited to carry the
great eastern and southern mail daily in wa-
ter-proof carriages constructed for the pur-
pose, under the direction of the department,
with only three passengers, on the outside or
in a separate apartment; also to carry said
mail at a greater speed, defining the number
of miles which the bidder proposes to make in
each hour of running time.

Leave Tarboro' every Tuesday, Thursday,
and Saturday, at 2 p. m.; arrive at Blakely
Depot same days by 11 p. m.

Leave Blakely Depot every Monday, Wed-
nesday, and Friday, at 1 a. m.; arrive at Tar-

N. B.-On routes where the eastern and
southern mail is to be carried upon railroads,
it is expected that it will be conveyed in cars
provided for the purpose, under the direction
of department, and that agents, appointed and
paid by the department to take charge of them,
will be conveyed free of charge whenever re-
quired.
