Copy of abstract of bids under advertisement of June 6, 1838, inviting proposals for carrying a daily express mail on
horseback or in railroad cars, for the purpose of conveying slips from newspapers, in lieu of exchange newspapers, and letters
(other than such as contain money) not exceeding half an ounce in weight, markedExpress Mail,and public despatches,
from the times hereinafter stated, to the 30th day of June, 1843, inclusive, on the following routes, to be received at the
Post Office Department until the 21st day of September, 1838, to be decided by the 24th day of said month.
