MISSOURI.
No. 3001-From St. Louis, by Carondelet,
Jefferson Barracks, Sulphur Springs, Hercu-
laneum, Hillsborough C. H., Glenfinlay, and
Old Mines, to Potosi, 67 miles and back, 3
times a week, in 4-horse post-coaches.

Proposals will also be considered for
stage service on this route; also, for stage or
coach service, twice a week. As this kind of
service may be sometimes difficult on this
route, proposals will also be received for car-
rying the mail on horseback, in wagons, or
carts, for a specified number of months,
weeks, or days, in each year; but no dispen-
sation of post-coach or stage service will be
tolerated, unless it be stipulated in the propo-
sals, and embraced in the contract.

Leave St. Louis every Tuesday, Thursday,
and Saturday, at 1 p. m.; arrive at Potosi
next days by 7p. m.

Leave Potosi every Monday, Wednesday,
and Friday, at 5 a. m.; arrive at St. Louis
next days by 12 noon,

Brook, Woodstock, Stony Creek, Mount Jack-
son, New Market, Smith's Creek, Harrison-
burg, Mount Crawford, and Mount Sidney, to
Staunton, 94 miles and back, 3 times a week,
in 4-horse post-coaches.

Leave Winchester every Monday, Wed-
nesday, and Friday, at 6 a. m.; arrive at
Staunton next days by 2 p. m.

Leave Staunton every Monday, Wednes-
day, and Friday, at 8 a. m.; arrive at Win-
chester next days by 4 p. m.

Any change of schedule that will allow bet-
ter connexions to be made, but retain the same
speed, can be ordered by the department.

Proposals will also be considered to carry
in stages, also on horseback.

. As coach service may be sometimes diffi-
cult on this route, proposals will also be re-
ceived for carrying the mail on horseback, in
wagons, or carts, for a specified number of
months, weeks, or days, in each year; but no
dispensation of post-coach or stage service will
be tolerated, unless it be stipulated in the pro-
posals and embraced in the contract.
