As we worship Thee, give us grace to perform our daily tasks in a manner pleasing unto Thee. May our Flag, to which we pledge allegiance this day ever remind us of our individual opportunities for patriotic service. Grant guidance and blessing to all who serve in places of leadership and responsibility in State and Nation. For the opportunities, O Lord, of serving Thee and our State, we give sincere thanks. May the words of our mouths and the ideals of our minds be ever acceptable in Thy sight. Grant to be that inward peace that will sustain us in every difficult task. May we never permit our conscience to be dulled nor our affections chilled. We ask O Lord, a blessing on our homes and on all who are near and dear to us. Fill our hearts with Nation and State and for the opportunity of serving here in this Senate Chamber. AMEN. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE Senator Erhart led the Senate in pledging allegiance to the Flag.
