Then let him that is on the houfe-top, not go down into the house, neither enter therein, to take any thing out of his house. LXIX. St. MARK Chap. XIV. Ver. 3, 4, 5,6, 3. As he fat at meat, there came a woman, having an alabaster-box of ointment of Spikenard, very precious; and fhe brake the box, and poured it upon his bead, 4. And there were fome that had indignation within themselves, and faid, Why was this waste of the ointment made? 5. For it might have been fold more than three hundred pence, and have been given to the poor. And they murmured against her. 6. And Jefus faid, Let her alone, why trouble ye ber? fhe bath wrought a good work on me. LXX. The Refurrection of Christ declared by an Angel to three Women. Scarce had the fober Morning's doubtful Ray Beckon'd the Sun and warn'd the Shades away, When the two Maries went with pious Care, T'anoint their Mafter in the Sepulchre : Concern'd, as through the filent Shades they come, That Care was vain, their kind celestial Friend } They went, but till they to th' Apoftles come, To none the Vifion tell, amazement ftruck 'em dumb. LXX. St. MARK Chap. XVI. Ver. 2, to 8. 2. Very early in the morning, the first day of the week, they came unto the fepulchre at the rifing of the fun, &c. 5. And entring into the fepulchre, they saw a young man fitting on the right fide, clothed in a Long white garment; and they were affrighted. 6. And he faith unto them, Be not affrighted: ye feek Fefus of Nazareth, which was crucified: be is rifen, he is not here: behold the place where they laid him. 7. But go your way, tell his disciples, &c. |
