This edition of Macbeth " is the third of the XXth Century Shakespeare series; the plan and the purpose are set forth in “ Julius Cæsar," the first to appear.
The text is that of the Clarendon Press edition.
In the preparation of notes, the editor acknowledges obligations to Furness, Rolfe, and Clark and Wright (editors of the Clarendon Press series).
