SUCH is the original title of this singularly rare and curious volume, of which, though there have been many Latin editions, only one is known to exist in the English language, and even that, it may be presumed, was printed upon the Continent, by the above title referring to the general mart of that age, for vending English books. It is reprinted in quarto, from a new fount of black letter, upon drawing paper, and embellished with 120 wood-cuts, incidental to each fable, faithfully copied from the spirited outlines of the Latin edition printed at Gouda in 1480. The genuine text is faithfully preserved. The number of Copies are ninety-eight.

Or this most interesting piece of Biography it is intended to print a small impression from a careful collation of manuscripts; for this purpose, the Editor has been favoured with some highly valuable copies from the libraries of F. Douce, Esq. the Hon. G. Nassau, R. Heber, Esq. and other friends. An Appendix of illustrative notes and papers will be added, with Portraits of Wolsey, and King Henry VIII. The book will be elegantly printed at the Chiswick press, and dedicated by permission, to His GRACE THE DUKE OF DEVONSHIRE.

Of the Small Paper, but 125 Copies will be printed; and of the Large, 25 Copies, to range with Roper's Life of Sir T. More.
