PREFACE. The SECOND EDITION of this DIRECTORY appears changed in title; it is also enlarged and much improved. We have spared neither time nor expense in the preparation of this number, and in it will be found much useful information that can be had from no other single source. We wish to acknowledge our indebtedness to the Profession throughout the State for their prompt responses to our requests for information, and especially to the Secretaries of the Medical Societies for their valuable assistance, and to the members of the State Board of Health for access to their records in revising and perfecting the lists. Also to our many subscribers for the substantial aid and continued confidence which insure our future success. It is our purpose to continue this publication annually, and trust we shall have the continuous active co-operation of all interested, in making it as perfect and as useful as possible. We therefore invite friendly criticism, and request an immediate notification of any errors or omissions that may have occurred, so that the correction may be made in our next issue. Secretaries of Medical Societies are particularly requested to keep us informed in regard to appointments, elections, etc., and changes in their organizations and lists of members. We also solicit any information that will enable us to perfect the records of this DIRECTORY.
