Ordered, That the Clerk return said bill to the Assembly, with a message that the Senate has concurred in the passage of the

same.

The Assembly bill (No. 1067, Rec. No. 130) entitled "An act to amend the General Municipal Law, in relation to convention expenses of municipal officers and employees," was read the third time.

The President put the question whether the Senate would agree to the final passage of said bill, the same having been printed and upon the desks of the members in its final form for three calendar legislative days, and it was decided in the affirmative, a majority of all the Senators elected voting in favor thereof, and three-fifths being present, as follows:

The Assembly bill (No. 276, Rec. No. 158) entitled "An act to amend the Public Health Law, in relation to qualifications of local health officers," was read the third time.

legislative days, and it was decided in the affirmative, a majority of all the Senators elected voting in favor thereof, and three-fifths being present, as follows:

The Assembly returned the bill (No. 564, Assembly Reprint No. 1508, Int. No. 515) entitled "An act to amend the Education Law, in relation to patriotic instruction in the schools of the State," with a message that they have concurred in the passage of the same, with the following amendments:

In title after "instruction" strike out "in the schools of the State" and insert the words "and citizenship."

Page 1, line 8, strike out words "civic and defensive duty" and insert the word "citizenship."

Page 1, line 9, strike out the words "civic and."

Page 1, line 10, strike out the words "defensive duty" and insert in place thereof the word "citizenship."

Page 2, line 3, strike out "civic and" and insert word "citizenship."

The Senate bill (No. 1406, Int. No. 897) entitled "An act to amend the Military Law, relative to the military training of boys," having been announced for third reading, Mr. Slater moved that said bill be recommitted to the committee on military affairs, with instructions to said committee to amend and report the same forthwith, to be reprinted as amended and restored to its place in the order of third reading.

The President put the question whether the Senate would agree to the said motion, and it was decided in the affirmative.

Mr. Stivers, from the committee on military affairs, reported said bill amended as directed, and the same was ordered reprinted and placed on the order of third reading.

The Assembly bill (No. 1362, Rec. No. 219) entitled "An act to amend the Penal Law, in relation to obtaining money by fraudulent check, draft or order," having been announced for third reading, Mr. Sage moved that said bill be recommitted to the committee on codes, with instructions to said committee to amend and report the same forthwith, to be reprinted as amended and restored to its place in the order of third reading.

The President put the question whether the Senate would agree to the said motion, and it was decided in the affirmative.

Mr. Newton, from the committee on codes, reported said bill

amended as directed, and the same was ordered reprinted and placed on the order of third reading.

Mr. Walker offered the following:

Resolved (if the Assembly concur), That a respectful message be sent to the Governor, requesting the return to the Senate of the Senate bill (No. 874, Int. No. 751) entitled "An act to amend the Code of Civil Procedure, in relation to the conduct of sales of real property pursuant to judgment," for the purpose of amendment.

The President put the question whether the Senate would agree to said resolution, and it was decided in the affirmative.

Ordered, That the Clerk deliver said resolution to the Assembly and request their concurrence therein.

The Assembly returned the above resolution, with a message that they have concurred in the passage of the same.

Ordered, That the Clerk deliver said resolution to the Governor. Mr. Murphy offered the following:

Resolved, That a respectful message be sent to the Assembly, requesting the return to the Senate of the Senate bill (No. 838, Int. No. 714) entitled "An act to amend the Greater New York charter, in relation to the issue of corporate stock notes," for the purpose of amendment.

The President put the question whether the Senate would agree to said resolution, and it was decided in the affirmative.

Ordered, That the Clerk deliver said resolution to the Assembly. The Assembly returned the above-named bill.

On motion of Mr. Murphy, said bill was laid upon the table. Mr. Dowling offered the following:

Resolved (if the Assembly concur), That a respectful message be sent to the mayor of the city of New York, requesting the return to the Senate of the Senate bill (No. 369, Int. No. 84) entitled "An act to amend chapter four hundred and ten of the Laws of eighteen hundred and eighty-two, entitled 'An act to consolidate into one act and to declare the special and local laws affecting the public interests in the city of New York,' in relation to the salaries of assistant district attorneys in the county of New York," for he purpose of amendment.

The President put the question whether the Senate would agree to said resolution, and it was decided in the affirmative.

Ordered, That the Clerk deliver said resolution to the Assembly' and request their concurrence therein.

The Assembly returned the above resolution, with a message that they have concurred in the passage of the same.

Ordered, That the Clerk transmit said resolution to the mayor of the city of New York.

Mr. A. P. Brown moved that the committee of the whole be discharged from the consideration of Assembly bill (No. 972, Rec. No. 161) entitled "An act to permit the common council of the city of Oneonta to vote extra compensation to the chamberlain of such city for the years nineteen hundred and eighteen and nineteen hundred and nineteen."

The President put the question whether the Senate would agree to said motion, and it was decided in the affirmative.

On motion of Mr. A. P. Brown, and by unanimous consent, the rules were suspended and said bill ordered to a third reading.

Mr. G. L. Thompson moved that the committee of the whole be discharged from the consideration of Senate bill (No. 1162, Int. No. 827) entitled "An act to amend the Town Law, in relation to town meetings in the county of Suffolk and to terms of office of town officers heretofore and hereafter elected therein and the filling of vacancies.'

The President put the question whether the Senate would agree to said motion, and it was decided in the affirmative.

On motion of Mr. G. L. Thompson, and by unanimous consent, the rules were suspended and said bill ordered to a third reading.

Mr. Knight moved that the committee of the whole be discharged from the consideration of Senate bill (No. 1070, Int. No. 893) entitled "An act to amend the Code of Civil Procedure, in relation to parties in actions for partition involving the estate of a decedent."

The President put the question whether the Senate would agree to said motion, and it was decided in the affirmative.

On motion of Mr. Knight, and by unanimous consent, the rules were suspended and said bill ordered to third reading.

Mr. Whitney moved that the committee on finance be discharged from the consideration of Senate bill (No. 1325, Int. No. 1047) entitled "An act to amend the County Law, in relation [SENATE JOURNAL]
