O for a closer walk with God..

Now to grace, as debtors we..
Now begin the heav'nly theme.
Now to the pow'r of God supreme.

O bless the Lord, my soul.

Not from the dust affliction grows..

Now, in a song of grateful praise..

Lord, we adore thy dark designs..
Love is the Spirit's fruit....

Mary to her Saviour's tomb

....

May all my Saviour's love and smart..
May the grace of Christ our Saviour
Meet and right it is to sing..

My soul, repeat his praise..

My soul, this curious house of clay.
My times of sorrow and of joy.
My present help in trouble...
My God, my life, my love..

Naked, as from the earth we came .
No help in self I find..

O, my distrustful heart

my soul, what means this sadness.
Once a woman silent stood..
One glance of thine, eternal Lord..
On Jordan's stormy banks I stand
On what has now been sown.

O thou from whom all goodness flows..

Our God, how firm his promise stands.
Our Lord, who knows full well.....
pass by..

O Zion, afflicted with wave upon wave...

Pearl of price, thy condescension.....

Rich grace, free grace, most sweetly calls

Rock of ages, cleft for me.

Safe in the fiery furnace....
Salvation! O the joyful sound
Saviour, visit thy plantation...
Saviour, Lord, who at thy death.
See how rude winter's icy hand.....
See Aaron, God's anointed priest.
Send help, O Lord, we pray.
Some wise men of opinions boast
Sons of God, in tribulation...
Source of light and pow'r divine....
Sov'reign Ruler of the skies......
Supported by the word.....

Sweet the moments, rich in blessing..

Tell me no more of earthly toys....
The saints should never be dismay'd
The world can neither give nor take..
The Lord our salvation and light.
The God of Abr'ham praise....

The Lord my shepherd is..

The word of Christ our Lord...
There is a friend who sticketh fast
There is a fountain fill'd with blood.
Thou dear Redeemer, dying Lamb..
Thou, who for sinners once wast slain
Though troubles assail..

Thy mercy, my God, is the theme of my song.

[blocks in formation]

To bless thy chosen race.....
To those who know the Lord I speak.
'Twas on that dark and doleful night..

Wait, O my soul, thy Maker's will.
What various hind'rances we meet.

HYMNS.

Gon

1.

His Way is in the Sea.

moves in a mysterious way,
His wonders to perform;

He plants his footsteps in the sea,
And rides upon the storm.

2 Deep, in unfathomable mines
Of never-failing skill,

He treasures up his bright designs,
And works his sov'reign will.

3 Ye fearful saints, fresh courage take,
The clouds ye so much dread
Are big with mercy, and shall break
In blessings on your head.

4 Judge not the Lord by feeble sense,
But trust him for his grace;
Behind a frowning providence
He hides a smiling face.

5 His purposes will ripen fast,
Unfolding ev'ry hour;

The bud may have a bitter taste,
But sweet will be the flow'r.

6 Blind unbelief is sure to err,
And scan his work in yain;
God is his own interpreter,
And he will make it plain.

Gospel Privileges.

1 HAPPY are they to whom the Lord
His gracious name makes known!
And, by his Spirit and his word,
Adopts them for his own!

2 He calls them to his mercy seat,
And hears their humble pray'r;
And when within his house they meet
They find his presence near.

3 The force of their united cries

No pow'r can long withstand;

For Jesus helps them from the skies
By his almighty hand.

4 Then mountains sink at once to plains,
And light from darkness springs;
Each seeming loss improves their gains,
Each trouble comfort brings.

5 Tho' men despise them, or revile,
They count the trial small;
Whoever frowns, if Jesus smile,
It makes amends for all.

6 Tho' meanly clad and coarsely fed,
And like their Saviour poor,

They would not change their gospel bread
For all the worldling's store.

7 Dear Lord, assist our souls to pay

The debt of praise we owe,

That we enjoy a gospel day,
And heav'n begun below.
