TRANSACTIONS

OF THE

Minnesota State Medical Society

The ninth annual meeting of the Minnesota State Medical Society was held in the Senate Chamber, at St. Paul, on June 19th and 20th, 1877.

The Society was called to order at 10.30 A. M. by the President, Dr. F. H. Milligan, and, after an appropriate prayer by the Rev. Henry Cross, the roll was called: twenty-four members answering to their names, and about forty others coming in during the session.

The President then addressed the following opening remarks to the Society:

We have assembled for our ninth annual meeting. The nation has entered upon its second century, and the International Congress has convened and recorded the work of eminent men from all portions of the civilized world. In our own country, two meetings of the National Association have to report to us through our delegates.

Your committees will report to you through their respective chairmen; but custom requires me, as your presiding officer, to offer such suggestions as, in my judgment, will benefit the Society and the profession at large.
