TOPEKA, KANSAS, January 8th, 1867.

This being the day designated, by the Constitution, for the meeting of the Legislature, the House of Representatives of the State of Kansas was called to order, at 12 o'clock, M., by the Hon. R. A. Barker, Secretary of State, who read a list of the members to whom certificates of election had been issued.

On motion,

Hon. Job Throckmorton, of the 61st Representative District, was chosen temporary Chairman of the House.

On motion,

Hon. James M. Spencer, of the 41st Representative District,was chosen temporary Clerk.

The members were requested to come forward within the . bar and be sworn.

The following oath was then administered to the following named gentlemen by the Hon. Jacob Safford, Associate Justice of the Supreme Court, which oath was respectively subscribed' by them:

You and each of you do solemnly swear in the presence of Almighty God, that you will support the Constitution of the United States and the Constitution of the State of Kansas, and faithfully perform your duties us members of the House of Representatives of the State of Kansas, to the best of your ability. So help you God

From the First Representative District, the township of Iowa, in the county of Doniphan, W. R. PARKER.

From the Second Representative District, the townships of Wolf River and Burr Oak, in the county of Doniphan, GEO. H. ROBB.

From the Third Representative District, the township of Washington, in the county of Doniphan, BENJ. D. EVANS.

From the Fourth Representative District, the townships of Center and Marion, in the county of Doniphan, E. J. JENKINS.

From the Fifth Representative District, the township of Wayne, in the county of Doniphan, ROBT. FLICKINGER.

From the Sixth Representative District, the first and second wards of the city of Atchison, in the county of Atchison, WM. BOWMAN.

From the Seventh Representative District, the township of Shannon and the third ward of the city of Atchison, in the county of Atchison, G. W. BOWMAN.

From the Eighth Representative District, the townships of Walnut and Mt., Pleasant, in the county of Atchison, G. W. THOMPSON.

From the Ninth Representative District, the townships of Center and Capioma, in the county of Atchison, W. J. MAY.

From the Tenth Representative District, the townships of Grasshopper and Lancaster, in the county of Atchison, M. J. CLOYCE.

From the Eleventh Representative District, the townships of Irving and Claytonsville, in the county of Brown, M. C. WILLIS.

From the Twelfth Representative District, the townships of Walnut Creek and Lochnane, in the county of Brown, C. E. PARKER.
