Q. Show that our bodies as well as our souls partake of these benefits.

A. "Grant us therefore, gracious Lord, so to eat the flesh of thy dear Son Jesus Christ, and to drink his blood, that our sinful bodies may be made clean by his body, and our souls washed through his most precious blood, and that we may evermore dwell in him, and he in us."-Prayer of the Priest in the name of the Communicants.

Quest. What is required of them who come to the Lord's Supper?

Answ. To examine themselves, whether they repent them truly of their former sins, stedfastly purposing to lead a new life, have a lively faith in God's mercy through Christ, with a thankful remembrance of his death; and be in charity with all men.

Q. What is to "be in charity with all men ?"

A. " Being ready to make restitution and satisfaction, according to the uttermost of our powers, for all injuries and wrongs done by us to any other; and being likewise ready to forgive others that have offended us, as we would have forgiveness of our offences at God's hand."-First Exhort. before Communion Service.

SUPPLEMENTARY QUESTIONS.

Quest. WHAT persons are forbidden to come to the Holy Communion?

Ans. "If any be an open and notorious evil liver, or have done any wrong to his neighbours by word or deed."-Second Ru ic before Communion Service. And, "if any of you be a blasphemer of God, an hinderer or slanderer of his word, an adulterer, or be in malice, or envy, or in any other grievous crime, repent you of your sins, or else come not to that holy table."-First Exhortation before Communion Service.

Q. Is being an "evil liver" any excuse for not coming to the Holy Communion?

A. No; for we read in the Exhortation, "If any man say, I am a grievous sinner, and therefore am afraid to come; wherefore then do ye not repent and amend?"-Second Exhortation before Communion Service. Q. Who are mentioned in the Exhortation to warn persons of their sinfulness in not coming?

A. "They that refused the feast in the Gospel, because they had bought a farm, or would try their yokes of oxen, or because they were married, and were not so excused, but counted unworthy of the

heavenly feast."-Second Exhortation before Communion Service.

Q. What then is the duty of persons who thus wilfully abstain from the Lord's table?

A. "By God's grace [to] return to a better mind." -Second Exhortation before Communion Service.
