There was another start for this race, when Saucy Dick came in first by a length, Clarissa second, and Cosachia third. It was then discovered that they had run the wrong Course, and the Stewards decided that the start was void. The following horses also ran in the first start, and were afterwards scratched :-The Flea, 7st. 9lb., and Rodney 7st. 2lb. Betting on the first start-5 to 2 against Clarissa, 3 to 1 against Syrup, 5 to 1 against Cosachia, 5 to 1 against St. Antonio, and 7 to 1 against Saucy Dick. On the second starteven on Saucy Dick, 3 to 1 against Clarissa, and 5 to 1 against Cosachia. Won by a length; a head between the second and third.
