WHEREAS, In a recent decision of the supreme court in a case, James S. Easley appellant, vs. Clarence F. Whipple respondent, it is decided that the title of the state and subsequent purchaser in certain lands conveyed to the state by Marathon county by virtue of chapter 22, laws of 1867, is defective. Therefore be it

Resolved, by the Senate, the Assembly concurring, That the committee on Public Lands be requested to report a bill to cure the defects in said law, and such other provisions as may be deemed necessary for the purpose of protecting the interest of the state and its assigns.

The rules were suspended and the resolution adopted.
