Senator Comstock offered the following amendment to thelamendment:

Strike out the word "three," and insert "seven."

Which was rejected.

Senator Ringle offered the following amendment:

Amend the amendment by adding thereto the following: Unless it is proven to the satisfaction of the commissioners of public lands that the purchaser desires the same for actual settlement and cultivation, or that the land contains no timber, then said commissioners may sell such land at the minimum price of $1.25 per acre.

On motion of Senator Ringle,

The bill and pending amendments was recommitted to the committee on Public Lands.

The ayes and noes being demanded, it was decided in the affirmative: Ayes, 20; noes, 9; not voting, 4.

The vote was as follows:
