Senator Hudd offered the following amendment to
No. 20, S.,

A bill to amend subdivision 4 of section 258, revised statutes of 1878, entitled of investment of trust funds.

Amend in eighth line, printed bill, after the words, in the bonds of cities, towns and counties of this state, the words, issued pursuant to law since the amendment to section 3, article 11, of the constitution of the state of Wisconsin, was adopted, and became a part of said constitution.

Which was adopted, and the bill was then ordered engrossed and read a third time.

Were adopted, and the bills ordered engrossed and read a third time.

Senator Flint moved that the vote by which No. 11, S., was ordered engrossed and read a third time be reconsidered. The ayes and noes being demanded, it was decided in the affirmative, ayes 30; noes 2; not voting 1.

The vote was as follows:

Senator Flint offered the following amendment to
No. 11 S.:

Amend by striking out all after the enacting clause and insert the following: Section 1. Section 1 of chapter 317 of the laws of 1882, entitled "An act to provide for the exemption of the earnings of laborers and amendatory of section 2983 of the revised statutes," is hereby amended by inserting after the word "execution" in the fourth line of said section the words "to the amount of sixty dollars only for each month in which such earnings are made or earned," so that said section when so amended shall read as follows:

Section 1. The earnings of all persons for three months next preceding the issue of any attachment, execution or garnishment, or proceedings supplementary to execution, to the amount of sixty dollars only for each month in which such earnings are made, shall not be liable to seizure or sale on execution, or on any provisional or final processs issued from any court or any proceedings in aid thereof, and in case any creditor proceeds by garnishment against any person or party who shall be indebted to or have any property whatever, real or personal, in his possession or his control, belonging to such creditor's debtor, and such money or property at the time of serving such process was by law exempt from seizure or sale upon execution, said garnishee shall be entitled to judgment for his costs of suit, together with an attorney fee of ten dollars: provided, that no property exempted by the provisions of this section shall be exempt from attachment or upon execution issued upon a judgment in an action brought by any person for the recovery of the whole or any part of the purchase money of the same property.

Section 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage and publication.

On motion of Senator Warner the bill and pending amendment were laid over until Tuesday February 6, and the amendment ordered printed.

A bill to amend section of chapter 286 of the laws of 1881, entitled an act to limit the liens of debts upon the real estate of deceased persons, and to provide for making a record of the descent thereof, was indefinitely postponed. No. 7, S.

A bill supplementary and amendatory of chapter 91 of the revised statutes entitled of religious societies,
