The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord.
The righteous shall be in everlasting remembrance.

Mark the perfect man, and behold the upright; for the end of that man is peace.

They shall be mine, saith the Lord of Hosts, in that day when I make up my jewels; and I will spare them as a man spareth his own son that serveth him.

He shall receive the blessing from the Lord, and righteousness from the God of his salvation,

Days should speak, and the multitude of years teach wisdom.

With reverence did he remember the days of old and the years of many generations.

How Jehovah brought forth his people with joy, and his chosen with gladness.

How they went from one nation to another, when they were but few in number; from one kingdom to another people.

Thus was he ready devoutly to exclaim, —

Blessed art thou, O Lord God of our fathers. Thy word is worthy to be praised and glorified forevermore.

Righteous art thou in all thy ways, and holy in all thy works.

As thou didst do for our fathers, even so deal with us after thy loving-kindness and according to the multitude of thy mercies.

The Lord is our strength and our salvation, our fathers' God, and we will exalt him.

As thy days, so shall thy strength be.
The eternal God is thy refuge, and underneath are the everlasting

The Lord is good: his mercy is everlasting ; his truth endureth to all generations.

The Lord redeemeth the soul of his servants : and none of them that trust in him shall be desolate.

He shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.

The Lord gave, and the Lord hath taken away ; blessed be the name of the Lord :

He was not - for God took him :

“ Cheerful he gave his being up, — and went

To share the holy rest that waits a life well spent."

Mark the virtuous man, and see :

Peace and joy his steps attend; All his path is purity;

Happy is his end.

Come, and see his dying bed :

Calm his latest moments roll ; Angels hover round his head;

Heaven receives his soul."

Let not your heart be troubled; ye believe in God, believe also in me.

In my Father's house are many mansions : I go to prepare a place

for you.

And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you unto myself, that where I am, there ye may be also.

I will not leave you comfortless; I will come to you.
Because I live, ye shall live also.

My peace I give unto you. Not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

I am the resurrection and the life, saith the Lord. Whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die.

Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you :

Where the saints of all ages in harmony meet,
Their Saviour and brethren transported to greet,
While the anthems of rapture unceasingly roll,
And the smile of the Lord is the life of the soul."

When this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.

O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? Thanks be to God, who giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

“ Then stay thy tears : the blest above

Have hailed a spirit's heavenly birth,
Sung a new song of joy and love;

And why should anguish reign on earth?”

I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord.

Even so, saith the Spirit, for they rest from their labors.

They shall hunger no more, neither thirst any more ; for the Lamb, which is in the midst of the throne, shall feed them, and lead them into living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.

There shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, nor pain; for the former things shall have passed away.

Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither hath it entered into the heart of man to conceive the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.

“ Memories all too bright for tears

Crowd around us from the past ;

He was faithful to the last,
Faithful through long, active years.”

The things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.

Now we know that if the house of this tabernacle be dissolved, we have a building of God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.

We are willing therefore to be absent from the body, that we may be present with the Lord.

“Hoping, trusting, lay him down :

Many in the realms above

Look for him with eyes of love,
Wreathing his immortal crown."

Our help cometh from the Lord, who made heaven and earth.
The Lord is thy keeper : he is thy defence upon thy right hand.

For my brethren and companions' sake I will say, Peace be within thee.

The Lord preserve thy going out and thy coming in, from this time forth, and even foreverinore.

“ One we have loved has gone !

He has gone to his saintly rest,
Where no sorrow can be known,

And no trouble can molest:-
His crown of life is won ;

The dead in Christ are blessed.”
