Trustees of Philadelphia Yearly Meeting of Friends : dest. Liv. LIBRA Frien At the Yearly Meeting of Friends held in Philadelphia from the 11th day of Fifth month to the 15th day of the same, inclusive, 1914. Reports from all of our Quarterly and HalfYearly Meetings were received and read, and the representatives therein named to attend the service of this meeting, in number 114, upon being called were found to be present with the exception of 13 Friends, for the absence of 5 of whom reasons were given. A minute was produced and read from Baltimore Monthly Meeting, held on the 6th inst., for Dr. O. Edward Janney and Anne W. Janney, his wife, he being a minister and she a counselor in unity with said meeting. These and other Friends without minutes were welcomed by this meeting. Epistles from some of the Yearly Meetings with which we correspond were received and read at this session, being those from Ohio, Indiana and Illinois. The representatives from our Quarterly and HalfYearly Meetings were requested to hold a meeting during the recess, and be prepared to propose to this afternoon's session the name of a Friend to serve as Clerk, and the names of two Friends to serve as Assistant Clerks of the meeting this year; also to propose the names of a suitable number of Friends, who, in conjunction with a similar committee of Women Friends, shall examine and settle the account of our Treasurer, determine the amount necessary to be raised for the use of the meeting for the ensuing year, and name a Friend to serve as Treasurer, and two Friends for Correspondents for this meeting; also to nominate a small committee to examine the accounts of the "Trustees of Philadelphia Yearly Meeting of Friends," at a date to be selected by the said corporation near to, but prior to the Yearly Meeting of 1915. And further, to propose the names of Friends, one from each constituent body, to assist the committee named by the Monthly Meeting of Friends of Philadelphia, in preserving order in and about the meeting house during the sessions of the Yearly Meeting. The Representatives were further asked to report the names of thirty-five Friends, two from each Quarterly and Half-Yearly Meeting, and the remainder from the meeting at large, to constitute half of the General Nominating Committee, which is to nominate to the Yearly Meeting of 1915 such committees as this meeting may hereafter request said nominating committee to name. |
