EHOLD now, I have taken upon me to speak

Unto Thee lift I up mine eyes,

O Thou that dwellest in the heavens.
Arise, O Lord, and help us,

And save us for Thy mercy's sake.

THOU, Who art the hope of all the ends of the earth, remember all Thy creatures for good, and visit the whole world with Thy mercies.

O Thou, Who didst die, and rise again that Thou mightest be Lord both of the dead and of the living: whether we live or die, Thou art our Lord; whether living or dying, have mercy upon us, O Lord.

O Thou, Who art the Helper of the helpless, a refuge in due time of trouble: Remember all who are in any necessity, and stand in need of Thy help: feed the hungry, heal the sick, give deliverance to the captive; comfort the fatherless and the widow; sustain the aged, strengthen the faint-hearted, gather the dispersed, and bring back again to Thee such as are gone astray.

O Thou, Who hast purchased and redeemed Thy congregation of old, be mindful of Thy holy Church, from one end of the earth to the other; grant her Thy peace, and establish her even to the end of the world.

O Thou, Who walkest in the midst of the golden candlesticks, remove not our candlestick out of the place thereof: set in order the things that are wanting: strengthen the things that remain and are ready to die.

O Thou, Who hast set watchmen upon the walls of Jerusalem, which shall never hold their peace day nor night: Grant that Thy clergy may rightly divide the word of truth, and walk uprightly according to the same: and give them grace to pray without ceasing for Thy people.

O Thou, Who hast promised that those who do good in their generation shall in no wise lose their reward: Be mindful of all who bring forth the fruit of good works in Thy holy Church, and of those who remember the poor and needy: repay them with Thy rich and heavenly gifts: grant unto them for earthly things the blessings of heaven, for corruptible those that fade not away, for temporal those that endure for ever.

O Thou, Who rulest in the kingdom of men, and givest it to whomsoever Thou wilt; Be mindful of all religious and faithful princes, and especially of Thy servant our Queen; establish her throne in peace, that in her prosperity we may lead quiet and peaceable lives in all godliness and honesty.

O Thou, Who art the hope of the islands, and on Whom the isles do wait: Deliver this island and country wherein we dwell from all distress, danger, and necessity: let our garners be full and plenteous with all manner of store, that there be no decay and no complaining in our streets.

O Thou, Who hast taught us that he who provideth not for his own is worse than an infidel: Remember, according to Thy good pleasure, all my kindred, and all in my family: Peace be to my house! The Son of Peace be with all therein.

O Thou that art the Saviour of all them that trust in Thee: Make the end of our life Christian, acceptable to Thee: and if Thou think good, without pain, in peace; gathering us together unto Thine elect, when Thou wilt, and as Thou wilt, only without shame and without sin. Amen. (134)

And all that is within me, praise His holy Name.

LORD, Who didst not despise nor forsake man when he transgressed Thy commandment and fell, but as a tender Father didst visit him sundry ways, giving him that Thy great and precious promise concerning the blessed quickening Seed; opening to him a door of faith and repentance unto life; and in the fulness of time didst send the same, Thy Christ, to take the seed of Abraham, and by the oblation of His life to fulfil the obedience of the Law, and by the sacrifice of His death to take away the curse of it: by His death to redeem the world, and by His resurrection to quicken the same: Who didst all things to this end, to bring back man to Thee, that he might be a partaker of the Divine nature and of eternal glory: Who didst attest the truth of Thy gospel by many and manifold miracles, by the evermemorable conversation of Thy saints, by their supernatural patience under torments, by the most wonderful conversion of the whole world unto the obedience of faith, without strength, eloquence, or force: Blessed, praised, exalted, glorified, and hallowed be Thy name: the mention and the memory and all the monuments thereof, both now and for ever. The Blessing.

HE glorious death and passion of our Lord Jesus Christ deliver us from sorrow and trouble, and bring us to the joys of Paradise. Amen.
