standing, both civil and military, attest his usefulness as a citizen. Therefore, it is unanimously

Resolved, That we, the Representatives of the I. O. of O. F. of the State of New York, in Grand Lodge assembled, having heard of the death of our R. W. brother, General ROBINSON S. HINMAN, Grand Master of the I. O. of O. F. of the State of Connecticut, Past Chief Patriarch, of the Grand Encampment of the same State, and a Representative to the Grand Lodge of the United States, do most sincerely regret the loss of our distinguished brother, and deeply sympathise with his family in this afflictive bereavement; the Order of Odd Fellows has lost one of its brightest ornaments his acquaintances one of the truest and most devoted of friends.

Resolved, That those members of this R. W. body, who had the pleasure to enjoy the most frequent intercourse with our departed brother, not only found in him a steadfast, persevering and energetic advocate of all of those great principles which are most dearly cherished by us-but to his kindness have they often been indebted, when visiting the State to which he belonged, for many of those attentions which endear man to man and which his warmth of feeling originated, and his energetic zeal consummated.

Resolved, That copies of the foregoing preamble and resolutions be transmitted to the family of

our deceased brother, and to the Grand Lodge of the State of Connecticut-with the signature of the Officers, and the seal of the G. L. attached.

On motion, the preamble and resolutions were unanimously adopted."
