I have this day approved, signed and deposited in the office of the Secretary of State "an act to amend an act entitled an act to amend an act entitled an act to incorporate the stockholders of the Michigan insurance company of Detroit, approved March 7, 1834, and for other purposes, approved March 9, 1843.”

On motion of Mr. Richmond,

A call of the Senate was ordered, and Senators Howell, Mason, Pratt, Redfield, Starkey and Wilson, were absent without leave.

The sergeant-at-arms was despatched after the absentees, some of whom soon appearing and taking their seats, further proceedings under the call were dispensed with.

Senators Richmond and Green were appointed a committee to inform the House that the Senate had completed the business before them, and were now ready to adjourn.

The committee soon reported a discharge of the duty assigned them.
The following communication was announced :

SIR :-I am instructed by the House of Representatives to transmit to the Senate a concurrent resolution in relation to the appointment of a committee to wait upon the governor, and to inform you that Messrs. Livermore and Snell have been appointed such committee on the part of the House.

The Senate concurred in the res lution, and Senators Hart and Patterson, were appointed a committee to wait upon the Governor. The following communication was announced:
