(PART SECOND.

Blessed are those, who, day by day,
Within thy house adoring stay ;
Whose joyous tongues thy mercies raise
To hymns of gratitude and praise.
Who, Salem's distant tow'rs in view,
With active zeal their way pursue;

From stage to stage advancing still,
Behold they reach fair Sion's hill,—
And prostrate at her hallow'd shrine,
Adore thy Majesty Divine.

PSALM XVII.

1.

OH God! our help in ages past, Our hope in years to come; Our shelter from the stormy blast, And our eternal home!

2.

Under the shadow of thy throne,
Thy saints have dwelt secure ;

PSALM XIX.

1.

So teach us, Lord, to count our days,
And watch their constant race;
To measure what we want in time,
By wisdom and by grace.

2.

Bid us repent, and on our hearts
Thy choicest graces shed;

Aud show'r, from thy celestial throne,
Thy blessings on our head.

3.

[ocr errors]

Oh may thy mercy on our souls

Descend without delay;

That our whole course of life may seem One glad triumphant day.

PSALM XX.

1.

Он come, loud anthems let us sing; Loud thanks to our Almighty King; For we our voices high should raise When our salvation's rock we praise.

2.

Into his sacred presence haste,
And thank him for his favours past;
To him address, in joyful songs,
The praise that to his name belongs.
