PSALM XL. 1. UNNUMBER'D comforts to my soul Before my infant heart conceiv'd 2. When worn with sickness, oft hast thou And, when in sins and sorrows sunk, 3. Through every period of my life Thy precepts I'll pursue; And after death, in distant worlds, The glorious theme renew. PSALM XLI. 1. WHEN rising from the bed of death, I see my Maker, face to face, 2. If yet, while pardon may be found, My heart with inward horror shrinks, 3. When thou, oh Lord, shalt stand disclos'd, In majesty severe, To sit in judgment on my soul, Oh! how shall I appear? PSALM XLII. 1. THOU didst, O mighty God, exist, 2. Ere men ador'd or angels knew, Or prais'd thy wond'rous name, Thy bliss, oh sacred spring of life, Thy glory was the same! 3. So, 'midst dissolving elements, Unchang'd in everlasting years, PSALM XLIII. 1. GOD of my life, to Thee I call; When the great water-floods prevail, 2. Friend of the friendless and the faint, Where should I lodge my deep complaint? Where, but with Thee, whose open door Invites the friendless and the poor? 3.
