To God, who ceased from all his works; and on the seventh day exalted himself, and sat on the throne of glory: he adorned the day of rest with honour, and called the Sabbath-day, a day of delight. This is the praise of the seventh day, for thereon God ceased from all his works: and on the seventh day with praises say, a psalm and song for the Sabbath-day. It is a good thing to give thanks unto the Lord; wherefore all whom he hath formed shall render honour, glorify, bless, praise, and magnify the Lord, the Supreme King! the Creator of all things; who caused his people Israel to inherit rest in his holiness, on the holy Sabbath. Sanctified be thy name, O Lord! our God: and glorified be thy memorial, 0 our King! in the heavens above, and upon the earth beneath. Blessed be thou, O our Saviour, for the praise of the works of thy hands, and for the bright luminaries which thou hast made, they shall glorify thee. Selah.
