Moved by Mr. Downey, and carried, that H. B. No. 3 be rereferred to Committee No. 7.

H. B. No. 7, for an act to authorize the construction, extension and maintenance of a system of sewerage in the city of Laramie, etc., was introduced by Mr. Dole, read first time, and, upon motion of Mr. Dole, was laid on the table until to-morrow.

H. B. No. 13, to regulate coal weighing at the mines, etc., was introduced by Mr. Whitehouse, read first time and referred to Committee No. 19.

H. B. No. 14, concerning the election of school trustees and for other purposes, was introduced by Mr. Knight, read first time and referred to Committee No. 19.

Mr. Downey then offered a substitute to H. B. No. 10, which was read first time and on motion by Mr. O'Brien was referred to Committee No. 12.

On motion by Mr. Downey, H. J. R. No. 4 was laid on the table.

H. J. R. No. 2, which had been returned from the Council with its amendments thereto, was called up.

Moved by Mr. Guernsey, and duly seconded, that the resolution, as amended, be laid on the table indefinitely.

Moved by Mr. Mathews, and duly carried, that Mr. Williams
be excused until to-morrow (27th inst.) at 2 o'clock p. m.

On motion by Mr. O'Brien, Hon. H. V. S. Groesbeck was granted the privilege of the floor of the House, and Mr. O'Brien was appointed as a committee to escort Mr. Groesbeck to a seat. On motion by Mr. Downey, H. B. No. 5 was referred to the Committee of the Whole.

Moved by Mr. Downey, and duly carried that the Chief Clerk be instructed to address the Compilation Committee with a view to ascertaining if, in its opinion, any further compensation should be given the clerk of said committee.

Excuse of assistant Sergeant-at-Arms, O. P. Yelton, until 29th inst., was noted.

Mr. Speaker announced the signing by him of Enrolled H. B. No. I.

Committee No. 19 submitted the following report:

Moved by Mr. Downey, and duly carried, that the Speaker of the House be requested to ask of the Secretary of the Territory the report of the Compilation Committee.
