MISS ANNIE AND MISS EVA ******

This Poem

IS, BY THEIR KIND PERMISSION,

RESPECTFULLY DEDICATED,

BY

THE AUTHOR.

DEDICATION.

Annie and Eva-gentle maids,
With beauty blest and every grace,
Beaming from each exquisite face,
Like sunbeams sweet on summer glades―

Allow this title page to shine,

With names which I so fondly trace; If worth be here, be it thine to grace Verses which only live if thine.

Though weak and poor the verses be
One thing there is redeems them all,
Here every page, or great, or small,
Is writ in hopes of pleasing thee.

Grant, then, fair maids, my humble prayer, Though offered in so cold an age,

Permit your names to grace my page, And in an author's pleasures share.
