E have heard with our ears, Q GOD, and our fathers have told us: of the mighty works, that thou hast done in their time of old.

2. How thou didst drive out the heathen with thy hand, and plant them in.

3. For they gat not the land by their own fword: it was not their own arm that helped them.

4. But it was thy right hand, thine arm, and the light of thy countenance.

5. Thou art my king, O Gop: fend help unto Jacob.

6. Through thee will we overthrow our enemies: and in thy Name will we tread them down that rise

up against us.
