The Welham Cup, a handsome piece of plate, value 25 sov. given by the fund, added to a Sweepstakes of 5 sov. each, for horses not thorough-bred, that have never won plate or stake of any description before the day of naming (matches excepted), that have not been in any public training stable for six months previous to the day of naming, and that have been regularly hunted with any established pack of foxhounds during the season 1850-51; certificates of which to be produced before starting ; four yrs old, 10st 121b, five, 11st 9lb, six and aged, 12st; to be ridden by Gentlemen, members of a racing or fox-hunting club, or by farmers occupying not less than 200 acres of land, or their sons. One sov. entrance, to go to the fund; two miles.

N.B. Horses may be sent to any stable to prepare for this race after the day of naming.

Should the highest weight accepting for the above handicaps be under 8st 71b, it will be raised to that weight, and the others in proportion.
