We believe that the Church school is now placed in strong hands and has a bright future before it.

We ask the adoption of the following resolution:

Resolved, That this Convention approves all the acts of the Board of Trustees as set forth in this report, and hereby ratifies and confirms the same.

The Bishop called Rev. E. G. Hunter to the chair.

On motion of A. Q. Jones, the matter of delinquencies of parishes and that of Episcopal support for the coming year, were referred to a special committee of five laymen, with instructions to report at 3 o'clock this afternoon, and that its report be made the special order for that hour.

On motion of John H. Stotsenburg, the following preamble and resolution were adopted:

WHEREAS, At the last session of this Convention the Committee on Canons recommended the adoption of a resolution to repeal Subsection 6 and 8 of Section 1 of Article VII of the Constitution and by inadvertence the said Subsections were designated as 5 and 7. Therefore,

Resolved, That the Secretary be directed to correct the said clerical error, and that the Journal be corrected nunc pro tunc, so as to properly state and show that what was intended to be done was actually done.

The Bishop resumed the chair.

Rev. N. W. Heermans, in behalf of the Committee on Unfinished Business reported that the following, found on page 79 of the last journal, is awaiting final adoption.

Resolved, That Article III, Section 1, of the Constitution be amended so as to read as follows: "There shall be a Convention of the Church in the Diocese to assemble annually on the evening of the fourth Tuesday in September, at the Bishop's Church, Indianapolis, unless otherwise appointed by the Ecclesiastical Authority.”

On the question of adopting the proposed amendment, the roll of the clergy was called, which resulted, yea, 24; nay, 11; upon which the President declared that the amendment was not adopted.

On motion of Rev. A. J. Graham, the question was reconsidered and made the special order for half past four this afternoon.

The Bishop called Rev. E. G. Hunter to the chair.

On motion of A. Q. Jones, the special committee on delinquencies, etc., was increased to ten.

The Chairman named Charles E. Brooks, A. Q. Jones, William W. Lowry, A. G. Carnahan, E. A. Munson, J. M. Winters, Lewis B. Martin, Edward Olcott, John H. Stotsenburg and Gilbert S. Wright.

The Convention then, on motion, took a recess until 2 o'clock this afternoon.

AFTERNOON SESSION.

WEDNESDAY, June 2d, 2 o'clock, P. M.

The Convention was called to order by the President.

The Rev. G. A. Carstensen submitted the following, which was adopted:

Resolved, That the Committee on Canons be requested to submit for the approval of this Convention, a Canon creating the office of an Archdeacon, and defining his functions, and report to this Convention.

John H. Stotsenburg submitted the following, which was adopted:

The Committee on Canons, to which was referred the proposed amendment of Section 5 of Canon XIII, presented by the Rev. Mr. Hunter, respectfully report that they have examined the same, and recommend its adoption.

The Rev. G. A. Carstensen reported on behalf of the Board of Missions that four thousand dollars was needed for the work of the coming year.

The Rev. W. W. Raymond moved that the Convention proceed to take pledges to raise four thousand three hundred dollars.

On motion of the Rev. C. H. Schultz, by unanimous rising vote, it was

Resolved, That this Convention formally express to the Bishop its congratulations in being able to attend the Lambeth Conference, and we affectionately wish himself and Mrs. White a safe journey and a happy return to his Diocese, and to assure him that he will be followed by the loyal confidence and prayers of his people, both clerical and lay.
