Convened at Cheyenne, Wyoming, on the Tenth Day of January, 1899

House of Representatives, Cheyenne, Wyoming, January 10th, 1899. At the hour of 12 o'clock, noon, on Tuesday, the 10th day of January, 1899, being the hour and the day designated by the Constitution of the State of Wyoming for the assembling of the Legislature, the members-elect of the House of Representatives of the Fifth State Legislature of the State of Wyoming assembled in the hall of the House of Representatives of the Capitol in Cheyenne, the seat of government, and were called to order by the Honorable Fenimore Chatterton, Secretary of State. Prayer, by the Rev. F. N. White. The roll was then called by the Honorable Secretary of State, and the folloiwng gentlemen answered to their Il & IIl 62S : Albany County—Jerome S. Converse County—Lyman B. Cooper, Andrew Christian, Charles H. George. Crook County—John H. Gardner, William B. Ogden. Fremont County—Edgar H. Fourt, Charles Stough. Johnson ("ounty—Leonidas R. A. Condit, William J. Thom. Laramie County—John C. Baird, Bradford B. Davidson, Harry J. Jones, John F. McDermott, George H. Nagle, George W. Snow, James B. Woods. Natrona County—Patrick Sullivan. Mr. Davis of Weston County then nominated Hon. B. B. Davidson of Laramie County for Temporary Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Fifth Legislature of the State of Wyoming, and the gentleman was elected by acclamation. The Secretary of State then appointed Messrs. Fourt of Fremont, Carpenter of Albany, and Baird of Laramie County, as a committee to escort the temporary speaker to his seat, which duty was by them duly performed. Mr. Atherly of Albany County then placed in nomination Mr. Fourt of Fremont County for Temporary Chief Clerk, and he was elected by acclamation. A committee composed of Messrs. Davis of Weston, Carpenter of Albany, and Snow of Laramie County, was appointed by the Temporary Speaker to escort Mr. Fourt to his seat, which duty was by them duly performed. On motion of Mr. Davis of Weston, a committee consisting of one member from each county was appointed by the Speaker to be a Committee on Credentials, the following gentlemen being appointed: Messrs. Butler of Albany; McDonald of Big Horn; Conaway of ("arbon; ('ooper of Converse; Ogden of (‘rook: Hollingworth of Uinta; Stough of Fremont; Thom of Joinson; Sullivan of Natrona ; Lewis of Sheridan: Swanson of SweetWater, and I)avis of Weston. The House then took a recess pending the report of the ('onn mittee on ("redentials. I’resently the said committee returned and reported the following members entitled to seats in the House of Representatives of the Fifth Legislature of the State of Wyoming. The report being in the words and figures fol. lowing, to-wit : House of Representatives, Cheyenne, Wyoming, January 10, 1899. Hon. Speaker of the House: We, your Committee on Credentials, beg leave to submit the following report: We find the following members-elect present and entitled to seats in the House of Representatives of the Fifth State Legislature of the State of Wyoming: Albany County—Messrs.
