Long sets of this Society's Publications such as the above are very rare, as some of the volumes are quite out of print and very difficult to procure. The Society is still, after thirty-seven years, in a highly flourishing condition, including in its roll of members the names of many of the most eminent Antiquaries, Topographers, and Genealogists in the Country. To all who take an interest in the Antiquities of the Northern Counties such a set as the above is of the greatest importance and value, as the publications comprise inedited MSS. illustrative of the moral, the intellectual, the religious, and the social condition of those parts of England which constituted the ancient kingdom of Northumberland.
