BROADSIDES AGAINST NAPOLEON, published to stimulate British Patriotism at the time of his Threatened Invasion of England in the year 1803, a collection of 106 Broadsides and Songs, published at the time, and in the finest condition; laid down on thick drawing paper, and [appropriately bound in a splendid old crimson morocco cover (which formerly decorated a volume in the Royal Library at Paris), richly gilt, with the Arms of the City of Paris impressed in gold on the sides, ATLAS FOLIO, £18. 10s

1803

A very remarkable volume, and perhaps unique, on account of the fugitive nature of the contents, and the liability of such productions to be easily destroyed. The Broadsides include PATRIOTIC and STIRRING ADDRESSES, VIRULENT ATTACKS on NAPOLEON and his SUPPORTERS, DIALOGUES, FICTI TIOUS PLAYBILLS, SHAKESPEARE'S GHOST, and other jeux-d'esprit,

etc.

Among the SONG WRITERS are W. T. FitzGerald, Miss Hannah More, Miss Wilkinson of Clapham, John Mason Good, W. J. Denison, Esq. Sea and other Songs are included; also "The Choice," by George Ellis (from the Poetry of the AntiJacobin).

The fine printing of these Broadsides is noteworthy. Among the publishers are the respectable names of Hatchard, Rivington, Highley, McMillan, Hansard, J. Stockdale, Lane, Newman and Co. (Minerva Office), J. Ginger (Westminster School Bookseller), J. Asperne, etc.

Some of the Broadsides are printed at BRENTFORD, NEW

CASTLE, SUNDERLAND, SOUTH SHIELDS, BATH, etc.
