various State institutions of this State, and the Union Pacific Railroad Company, in order to facilitate our said visit, very generously furnished us transportation from Cheyenne to Evanston and return, the Pullman Palace Car Company furnishing us with elegant sleeping coaches and attendants to supply our every want, the Rocky Mountain Bell Telephone Company granting to us the use of their line free of charge, the citizens of Evanston, Rock Springs, Rawlins and Laramie kindly entertaining us and feeding us upon the very best of viands, both going and returning.

Therefore, Be It Resolved by the House of Representatives, That we extend our most cordial thanks to the above named corporations, assembly and people for cordial reception and courtesies extended to the members of the legislature and their visitors while on their trip.

Be it Further Resolved, That a copy of these resolutions be furnished to each of the above corporations and cities above named.

On motion of Mr. Dickinson, the report was adopted.

On motion of Mr. Oviatt, the Speaker was requested to appoint a committee of three to wait upon His Excellency, the Governor, and inform him that the House had concluded its labors, and inquire if he has any further communication for them.

The Speaker appointed as such committee Messrs. Oviatt, Snively, Young of Johnson.

Message From the Senate.

The following message from the Senate was received and read:

Cheyenne, Wyoming, February 21, 1903.

Hon. Speaker of the House of Representatives:

Sir: I have the honor to inform your honorable body that the Senate of the Seventh Legislature of the State of Wyoming has completed its labors and is now ready to adjourn sine die. Very respectfully,

The committee appointed to wait upon His Excellency, the Governor, and inform him that the House was about to complete its labors, reported that they had waited upon His Excellency, the Governor, who informed them that he had no further communication to impart, except the one herewith transmitted:

He expressed his great satisfaction with the labors of this body.

Message From the Governor.

The following message from His Excellency, the Governor, was received and read:

Cheyenne, February 21, 1903. To the Honorable Speaker and House of Representatives of the Seventh State Legislature:

Gentlemen-On behalf of the people of Wyoming, I beg to congratulate you on the zealous and faithful manner in which you have performed your duties, and to thank you for the enactment of laws that I believe will prove of great benefit to our commonwealth.

Having no further communication to present to your honorable body.

I have the honor to be,

The following message from the Senate was received and read:

Cheyenne, Wyoming, February 21, 1903.

Hon. Speaker of the House of Representatives:

Sir:-I have the honor to inform your honorable body that the following entitled House bill, H. B. No. 152, by Mr. Cook, "A bill for an act providing that the Board of Charities and Reform shall, if it decide to care for and maintain prisoners by contract, advertise for bids," was this day considered in committee of the whole in the Senate, and was recommended to be indefinitely postponed, and this report was thereafter adopted by the Senate.

Said H. B. No. 152 is herewith returned to your honorable body. Very respectfully GEORGE W. PERRY,

IN MEMORIAM.

HON. L. D. JACKSON, Deceased.

House Resolution No. 4.

Resolutions upon the death of Hon. L. D. Jackson, elected as a member of the House of Representatives:

Whereas, Subsequent to his election as a member of the House of Representatives of the Seventh Legislature of the State of Wyoming, Hon. L. D. Jackson of Uinta county died, and this House has thereby been deprived of the services of one who would have made a valuable member, and would have rendered eminent assistance in the work of this body; and the family of the deceased have lost an affectionate and loving husband and father and the State a true, loyal and public spirited citizen; therefore, be it

Resolved, That the House of Representatives of the Seventh Legislature of the State of Wyoming hereby expresses deep regret and sorrow over the departure from this life of Mr. Jackson, and the loss occasioned thereby to this House, the community and the family of the deceased; that the House extend to the family of the deceased the true and heartfelt sympathy of the members individually and collectively in this the hour of their great bereavement.

That an engrossed copy of these resolutions be furnished by the Clerk to the family of the deceased, and the resolutions spread on the House Journal.
