AN ACT to Appropriate Money to pay the Mileage, Per Diem, and
Contingent Expenses of the General Assembly.

SECTION

1. Makes appropriation to pay the mileage, per diem and contingent expenses. 2. Act takes effect from passage

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Arkansas:

SECTION I. That the sum of one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000), or so much thereof as may be necessary, be and the same is hereby appropriated out of any money in the State Treasury, not otherwise appropriated, to pay the mileage, per diem and contingent expenses of the General Assembly.

SEC. 2.

That this act take effect and be in force from

and after its passage.

ACT II.

AN ACT to Amend an Act to be Entitled An Act to Fix the Time of Holding the Several Circuit Courts in the Tenth (10th) Judicial District. Approved March 2, 1891.

SECTION

1. Fixes times for holding Courts in Tenth Judicial Circuit.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Arkansas: SECTION I. That hereafter the Circuit Courts of the Counties composing the Tenth (10th) Judicial District, shall begin and be held on the days and at the times following, to-wit:

In Dallas County, on the third Mondays in June and November of each year.

In Cleveland County, on the first Mondays in July and December of each year.

In Bradley County, on the first Mondays in January and August of each year.

In Ashley County, on the third Mondays in January and August of each year.

In Drew County, on the second Mondays in February and September of each year.

In Chicot County, on the first Mondays in March and October of each year.

SEC. 2. That no writ or process issued from any of said courts before the passage of this act shall be invalidated; but all such shall be returned to the Courts at the times and on the days mentioned herein, and cases shall be tried as though such writs or process had originally been made returnable on the day herein mentioned.

SEC. 3. That this act take effect and be in force from and after its passage, and that all laws or parts of laws in conflict with this act be and the same are hereby repealed. Approved January 25, 1893.

ACT III.

AN ACT to Provide for the Payment of the Publication of Amendment Number Two.

Recites the facts of the publication of Amendment No. 2 and the printers not being

SECTION

1. Appropriates $3000 to pay for publishing the amendment.

2. Act in effect from and after its passage.

WHEREAS, The General Assembly of the State of Arkansas, at its last session, which was holden in Little Rock in 1891, passed a proposed amendment to the Constitution of said State known as Amendment No. 2. And

WHEREAS, Under the Constitution in such cases made and provided, said amendment was required to be published in at least one newspaper printed and published in each county in the State of Arkansas, if such there be, and

WHERAS, Said requirement has been fulfilled in reference to said amendment, and the printers thereof have not been paid for same on account of the funds being exhausted. Be it therefore enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Ar

kansas:

SECTION I. That the sum of three thousand dollars be and the same is hereby appropriated out of any money in the treasury not otherwise appropriated, to pay for said publications of said amendment, and that the Auditor be directed to draw his warrant on the Treasurer for the payment of such sums as have not been paid for said publications. That this act take effect and be in force from

ACT IV.

AN ACT to Amend An Act of the General Assembly, approved April 8, 1891, fixing the salary of the County Judge of Miller County, Arkansas.

SECTION

1.

Fixes salary of County Judge of Miller County.

2. Repeals all laws in conflict, and act in effect from passage.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Arkansas: SECTION 1. That the salary of the County and Probate Judge of Miller county be, and the same is hereby fixed at the sum of eight hundred ($800.00) dollars per annum.

SEC. 2. That all laws and parts of laws in conflict with this act, be and the same are hereby repealed, and that this act take effect and be in force from and after its passage. Approved January 25, 1893.

ACT V.

AN ACT to Amend Section 5798 of Mansfield's Digest.

1. Requires reports on privilege taxes quarterly, which must be paid into State Treasury within twenty days after collection. Penalty.

2. Secretary to notify collectors.

3. Repeals all laws in conflict, but does not repeal making it a felony to misappropriate funds. Act in force from passage.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Arkansas:

SECTION I. That section 5798 of Mansfield's Digest be and the same is hereby amended so as to read as follows: The privilege taxes paid as herein provided to the collector shall be reported by him quarterly and paid into the county and State treasuries within twenty days after the granting of the license for which said privilege tax is paid, and each collector shall at the end of each quarter make to the clerk of the county a detailed report of the licenses issued by him during the quarter aforesaid, showing the number and date of the license, the name of the license, the privilege for

which it was granted and the amount collected for it. And if any collector shall fail to make such report he shall be notified by the clerk of the county court and required to make such report, and for failure to perform any of the duties required of him under this act shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and on conviction thereof shall be fined in any sum not less than three hundred dollars nor more than one thousand dollars.

SEC. 2. It shall be the duty of the Secretary of State to notify the collectors in each county, without delay, of the passage of this act, and each collector shall within twenty days after the passage of this act pay into the treasuries aforesaid all taxes derived from the source mentioned in section one of this act.

SEC. 3. All laws and parts of laws in conflict with this act be and the same are hereby repealed; provided, that nothing in this act is intended to repeal the law making it a felony for any official to appropriate to his own use any funds received by him in his official capacity, and that this act take effect and be in force from and after its passage. ACT VI.

AN ACT to Change the Time of Holding the Circuit Court in Polk

SECTION

County.

1. Fixes time for holding the Circuit Court In Polk County.

2. Makes all writs and process returnable at time fixed in section 1.

3. Repeals all laws in conflict and act takes effect from passage.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Arkansas: SECTION I. That hereafter the Circuit Court in and for the County of Polk, in the State of Arkansas, shall be begun and held on the first Monday after the fourth Mondays in February and August in each year.
