Parting Hymn.

312 The Knowledge of God.

Through thee we here together 1. Shine forth, Eternal Source of light! [came, And make thy glories known; Fill our enlarged, adoring sight.

In singleness of heart;
We met, O, Jesus, in thy name,
And in thy name we part.

2 We part in body, not in mind;
Our minds continue one;
And, each to each in Jesus joined,

We hand in hand go on.

3 Present we still in spirit are,
And intimately nigh,
While on the wings of faith and pray'r
We each to other fly.

4 Our life is hid with Christ in God;
Our Life shall soon appear,
And shed his glory all abroad

In all his members here.

i In the soft season of thy youth,
In Nature's smiling bloom,
Ere age arrive, and trembling wait
Its summons to the tomb;

2 Remember thy Creator, God;
For him thy powers employ;
Make him thy fear, thy love,thy hope,
Thy confidence, thy joy.

3 He shall defend and guide thy
Through life's uncertain sea,[course
Till thou art landed on the shore
Of bless'd eternity.

4 Then seek the Lord betimes, and
The path of heavenly truth: [choose
The earth affords no lovelier sight
Than a religious youth.

With lustre all thine own.

2 Vain are the charms, and faint the
The brightest creatures boast; [rays
And all their grandeur and their
Is in thy presence lost. [praise

3 To know the author of our frame
Is our sublimest skill;
True science is to read thy name,
True life to do thy will.

4 For this I long, for this I pray,
And following on pursue,
Till visions of eternal day

Fix and complete the view.
