The foregoing resolution, sent up from the House of Representatives, authorizing the Governor to expend any unexpended balance of a former appropriation in favor of the State Prison, for repairing the prison, and appropriating $200 to pay for a certain tract of land purchased for the prison, by order of the Governor, Was read a first and second time.

Ordered, That the same be referred to the committee on the Judiciary.

Ordered That the same be referred to the committee on Education.

The foregoing bill, sent back from the House of Representatives, entitled "An act to authorize contiguous school districts to associate together to establish and maintain high schools," with an amendment, was considered.

So the amendment was adopted.

Resolved, That the bill, entitled "An act in amendment of an act entitled an act to alter the times of holding the terms of the court of common pleas, approved, December 23, 1844," be now taken from the table and considered.
