Resolved, by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened, That the "American Citizen," published at Paper Mill Village, in the town of Alstead, be authorized and directed to publish the public acts and resolves of this State; Which was read a first time.

And the question, shall the resolution be read a second time? being put,

It was decided in the affirmative.

Ordered, That it be read a second time this forenoon at eleven o'clock.

Mr. Folsom submitted the following resolution:

Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened, That the secretary of state be directed to furnish the town of Auburn with a copy of the statute laws of this State, a set of the New Hampshire Reports, and one of Carrigain's Maps of this State;

Which was read a first time.

The question, shall the resolution be read a second time? being put,

It was decided in the affirmative.

Ordered, That it be read a second time to-morrow forenoon at eleven o'clock.

Agreeably to notice previously given, Mr. Sawyer of Atkinson moved to reconsider the vote, passing the bill, entitled “An act to incorporate the Concord Manufacturing Company;"

And the question being put,

It was decided in the affirmative.

So the House reconsidered their vote passing said bill.
On motion of Mr. Sawyer of Atkinson-

Resolved, That said bill be put upon its second reading for the purpose of amendment.

Mr. Sawyer of Atkinson moved to amend said bill, by striking out the third section, and adding a new section at the close of the bill, making said act of incorporation subject to the provisions of the laws of this State, in relation to corporations of a similar nature;

And the question being put,

Shall said amendment be adopted?
It was decided in the affirmative.
So said amendment was adopted.

On the question,

Shall said bill be read a third time? being put,

It was decided in the affirmative.

On motion of Mr. Sawyer of Atkinson

Resolved, That the rules of the House be so far suspended, that said bill be read a third time at the present time by its title. Said bill was then thus read a third time.

Resolved, That it pass, and that its title be as aforesaid.

Ordered, That the clerk request the concurrence of the Senate therein.

Mr. Sawyer of Atkinson, by leave, presented the account of Thomas P. Treadwell.

Ordered, That it be referred to the committee on Claims.
On motion of Mr. Batchelder of Haverhill-

The House resumed the consideration of the report of the committee on Roads, Bridges and Canals, to whom were referred sundry petitions, praying for the grant of an act of incorporation for a bridge over Connecticut River, between Barnet, Vt., and Lyman, N. H.

On motion of Mr. Batchelder of Haverhill

Resolved, That said report be recommitted to the committee on Roads, Bridges and Canals.

The Speaker laid before the House the following communication, which he had received from S. G. Howe:

Will you be so good as to inform me whether it would be agreeable to the members of the House of Representatives to witness an exhibition of the pupils of this institution; and on what day of the present session the use of the Hall could be granted for that purpose.

The exhibition would occupy only one hour and a half, and the best time for us would be about noon, so that we might return home the same day.

On motion of Mr. Batchelder of Haverhill

Resolved, That the use of the Representatives' Hall be granted to the director and pupils of the institution for the education of the blind at Boston, for an exhibition before the legislature on Wednesday next, between the hours of twelve and a half and two o'clock in the afternoon.

On motion of Mr. Tilton of Deerfield

The House adjourned.

AFTERNOON.

On motion of Mr. Sawyer of Dover

Resolved, That the rules of the House be so far suspended, that all bills and resolutions in order for a third reading this afternoon at three o'clock, be in order for a third reading at the present time.

The House proceeded to the order of the day, upon the bill, entitled "An act in further addition to an act, approved July 1, 1831, and entitled, an act to establish a corporation by the name of the Amoskeag Manufacturing Company;'

Which was read a third time.

Mr. Page of Sutton moved to lay said bill upon the table.
And the question being put,

It was decided in the negative..

So the House refused to lay said bill upon the table.

On the question,

Shall said bill pass?

It was decided in the affirmative.

So said bill passed.

Resolved, That its title be as aforesaid.

Ordered, That the clerk request the concurrence of the Senate therein.

The House proceeded in the order of the day to the consideration of bills with the following titles and the following resolutions, to wit:

"An act authorizing the Governor and Council to remove any insane person confined in the State Prison to the N. H. Asylum for the Insane;"

"An act relating to the duties of cashiers of banks in certain

cases.

"An act in addition to chapter 40 of the Revised Statutes;"

"An act to authorize the selecimen of Dover, or the Road Commissioners of the county of Strafford, to lay out a highway across the tide waters of Cochecho river;"

"An act in addition and amendment of chapter 142 of the Revised Statutes;"

Resolutions making an appropriation for slating the north wing of the state prison, and to pay for land purchased by the warden under the direction of the Governor and Council;

Which bills and resolutions were severally read a third time. Resolved, That they pass, and that the titles of the bills be as aforesaid.

Ordered, That the clerk request the concurrence of the Senate therein.

The House proceeded in the order of the day, to the consideration of the Senate resolutions, making an appropriation for binding the army rolls of the revolution, belonging to this State, the unbound written journals of the legislature, and for collecting and depositing in some safe place the trophies of the battle of Bennington, presented to this State by Gen. John Stark; Which was read a third time.

On motion of Mr. Kelly

Resolved, That said resolution lie upon the table.

The House proceeded in the order of the day, to the consid eration of the bill, entitled "An act to sever a part of the town of Grantham and annex the same to the town of Plainfield;" Which was read a third time.

On the question,

Shall the bill pass?
