At the Warren Stud, Epsom Downs, ALOUR, at 15gs each mare. Valour was a good horse at all distances; he won four Queen's Plates, also the Manchester Cup, and many other stakes. In the Manchester Cup he was carrying 8st 91b, top-weight but two, and beat Peter (second), Fernandez, and a large field of horses. The horse has plenty of size and is very blood-like. He had a full subscription last season.

ETHUS (sire of Marshall Scott, winner of the Astley Stakes. 1878, also Miss Ethus, My Delight, Beatus, Brest, Euphrosyne, Warren Belle, Persuader, &c.), by Blair Athol, out of Theresa, by Touchstone, her dam, Olga, by Charles XII, out of Fair Helen, by Pantaloon, out of Alice Hawthorne's dam; a limited number of mares at 15gs.

VAN AMBURGH (sire of Early Morn, winner of the Astley Stakes, 1879, also Van Dyke, Frolicsome, &c.), by Van Galen, sire of Tim Whiffler. He was a good horse at all distances, and won many valuable stakes. He started second favourite for the Derby (Hermit's year), and was only beaten a head for third place. Ten guineas a mare, halfbred mares, 5gs.
