Resolved, That when the Senate adjourn, it adjourn to meet again at two and a-half o'clock on Monday next.

On motion of Mr. Roberts, Senate Bill No. 173 was taken from the file and recommitted to the Judiciary Committee.

By Mr. Tompkins:

Resolved, That the Secretary of the Senate be directed to have prepared a numerical list of all bills introduced into the Senate, giving the number, the title and by whom introduced, and leaving a blank column for notes or memoranda; that the usual number of copies be printed, and that the same be continued, from time to time, as often as the number of bills introduced shall be sufficient to occupy an additional page, to be printed in such form as to correspond with the portion previously printed.

By Mr. Lawrence-Pursuant to notice the following resolution in reierence to a rule of the Senate, adopted in the early part of the session. is respectfully submitted:

Resolved, That the San Francisco delegation are hereby excepted from the rule requiring all bills referred to delegation committees to be subsequently referred to a standing committee; but such subsequent reference shall be bad at the request of any one member of the delegation in committee, or any Senator on the floor of the Senate.

Upon the adoption of the resolution, the ayes and noes were demanded by Messrs. Wand, Betge and Pendegast, and the Senate refused, by the following vote:

AYES-Messrs. Banvard, Comte, Conly, Curtis, Hager, Irwin, Kincaid, Lawrence, Lewis, Minis, Perkins, Saunders, Tompkins, Tweed, Wand, Wilson and Wing-17.

NOES-Messrs. Beach, Betge, Chappell, Conn, Farley, Fowler, Green, Hutchings, Maclay, Murch, O'Connor, Pendegast and Roberts-13.

Mr. Betge gave notice that he would, on Monday next, move to reconsider the vote just taken, by which the foregoing resolution was lost.

REPORTS.

Mr. Morrill, from the Committee on Enrolment, made the following. report:

Mr. PRESIDENT: Your Committee on Enrolment respectfully report that they have examined and find correctly enrolled Senate Bill No. 278-An Act to authorize the Supervisors of Kern County to levy a special tax for the County Current Expense Fund.

Also, Senate Bill No. 26-An Act to pay the claim of H. F. Hastings, assignee of George Seckel, Clerk of the Supreme Court.

Also, Senate Bill No. 33-An Act for the relief of L. P. Hall and Samuel J. Garrison.

And this day, at twelve o'clock and twenty-five minutes P. M., presented the same to the Governor for his approval.

Mr. PRESIDENT: The Committee on Claims, to whom was referred Senate Bill No. 102-An Act to pay the estate of Peter Seilor, deceased, to his legal heirs--bave had the same under consideration, and report it back with a substitute, and recommend the passage of the substitute.

Mr. PRESIDENT: Your Committee on Commerce and Navigation herewith report back Assembly Bill No. 38-An Act providing for a preliminary survey of the harbor of Santa Cruz and Salinas Slough, in Monterey Bay--and recommend its passage. BETGE, Chairman.

At twelve o'clock and fifty-five minutes P. M. Mr. Green moved to adjourn.

Upon the motion to adjourn, the ayes and noes were demanded by Messrs. Green, Beach and Maclay, and the motion prevailed, by the following vote:
