Also, Assembly Bill No. 32-An Act to extend the provisions of an Act entitled an Act concerning hogs running at large in certain counties in this State, approved April twenty-first, eighteen hundred and sixtyfive-report the same back without recommendation.

Also, Assembly Bill No. 107-An Act for the protection of deer in the County of San Mateo-respectfully report the same back without recommendation.

Also, Senate Bill No. 257-An Act to encourage the production and manufacture of sugar in California--have had the same under consideration and report it back without recommendation.

Also, Senate Bill No. 383-An Act to provide for the destruction of wolves and coyotes-report the same back and recommend its passage.

Mr. Saunders, from the San Francisco delegation, made the following report:

Mr PRESIDENT: The San Francisco delegation, to whom was referred Assembly Bill No. 153-An Act relating to the Board of Education of the City and County of San Francisco and more particularly defining its powers and duties-having had the same under consideration, report back a substitute for the same to the Senate and recommend the passage of the substitute.

Also, Senate Bill No. 258-An Act to make, open and establish a public street in the City and County of San Francisco, to be called Montgomery Street South, and to take private lands therefor-having had the same under discussion, respectfully report the same, back to the Senate without recommendation.

Also, Assembly Bill No. 20-An Act to provide for increasing the law library of the corporation known as the San Francisco Law Library, and to secure the use of the same to the Courts held at San Francisco. the bar, the city and county government and the people of the City and County of San Francisco-having duly considered the same, report the same back and recommend its passage.

Also, Assembly Bill No. 148-An Act to confer additional powers upon the Board of Supervisors of the City and County of San Francisco and upon the Auditor and Treasurer thereof-having duly considered the same, report the same back to the Senate and recommend its passage.

Also, Assembly Bill No. 262-An Act to confer additional powers upon the Board of Supervisors of the City and County of San Francisco and upon the Auditor and Treasurer thereof, and authorize certain appropriations by said Board-having duly considered the same, report the same back to the Senate and recommend its passage.

SAUNDERS, for Delegation.

Mr. Tompkins, from the Alameda delegation, made the following report:

Mr. PRESIDENT: The Alameda delegation, to whom was referred Senate Bill No. 476-An Act to prevent the destruction of fish and game in, upon and around the waters of Lake Merritt, in the County of Alameda-have had the same under consideration, and respectfully report that Lake Merritt has been formed from the San Antonio Creek, and is nearly all within the City of Oakland; that it was entirely the result of private enterprise, and is surrounded by the residences and property of the citizens by whom it has been constructed; that they unitedly desire that the fish in the lake and the birds and waterfowl upon and around it shall be protected from trespassers, who now invade their premises and expose them and their families to the danger arising from constant and careless shooting about the lake; and such request is reasonable and ought to be granted. The passage of the bill is therefore respectfully recommended.

Also, Senate Bill No. 311-An Act to prevent the destruction of timber on the sixteenth and thirty-sixth sections, reserved for school purposes, and on Agricultural College lands-report the same back and recommend the passage of the bill.

Also, Senate Bill No. 402-An Act concerning the outside lands of the City and County of San Francisco-report the same back and recommend that it be referred to the San Francisco delegation.

Mr. PRESIDENT: Your Committee on Claims have had under consideration Senate Bill No. 358-An Act for the relief of Will. S. Green; also, Senate Bill No. 202-An Act to authorize the payment of the claim of Mrs. Eliza McLane, for supplies furnished the State Marine Hospital in eighteen hundred and fifty-three and eighteen hundred and fifty-four; also, Senate Bill No. 468-An Act for the relief of Charles Tupper-and report them back to the Senate, and respectfully recommend that they do not pass.

On motion of Mr. Lewis, the rules were suspended for the consideration of Senate Bill No. 358, above reported by the Committee on Claims. Mr. Curtis moved to indefinitely postpone the bill.

Also, Senate Bill No. 104-An Act to amend an Act entitled an Act to amend an Act supplementary to an Act entitled an Act to provide for a street railroad within the City and County of San Francisco, and other matters relating thereto, approved April twenty-first, eighteen hundred and sixty-three, the Act hereby amended having been approved March thirtieth, eighteen hundred and sixty-eight.

And on the twenty-sixth day of February, eighteen hundred and seventy, at one o'clock and ten minutes P. M., presented the same to the Governor for his approval.
