And, on the third instant, passed Assembly Concurrent Resolution No. 42-For the establishment of a mail route in Santa Clara County.

And, on the fourth instant, passed Assembly Bill No. 551-An Act in relation to the county officers of Sierra County.

And, on the fifth instant, passed Senate Bill No. 248-An Act to provide for the payment of certain salaries in the County of Calaveras. Also, Assembly Concurrent Resolution No. 44-Relative to printing additional copies of the report of the State Agricultural Society.

Also, passed Senate Bill No. 314-An Act authorizing the Trustees of the San Francisco Lying-in Hospital and Foundling Asylum to take the charge of, bind out and give away children coming under their care. Also, Senate Concurrent Resolution No. 24-Relative to tax on distilleries.

And indefinitely postponed Senate Bill No. 45-An Act amendatory of and supplementary to an Act entitled an Act relating to the Board of Supervisors of the City and County of San Francisco, and more particularly defining their powers and duties, approved March thirtieth, eighteen hundred and sixty-nine.

Mr. PRESIDENT: The Committee on Engrossment have examined and find correctly engrossed Senate Bill No. 527-An Act to authorize the County of Sacramento to issue bonds to raise money for Court-house and jail purposes.

Also, Senate Bill No. 400-An Act to amend an Act entitled an Act granting bounties to the volunteers of this State enlisted in the service of the United States, for issuing bonds to provide funds for the payment of the same, and to levy a tax to pay such bonds, approved April fourth, eighteen hundred and sixty-four.

Also, Senate Bill No. 320—An Act for the relief of Mary Likins and others.

Also, Senate Bill No. 399-An Act to amend an Act to provide for paying certain equitable claims against the State of California, and to contract a funded debt for that purpose, approved April twenty-eighth, eighteen hundred and fifty-seven.

Mr. Tompkins, for the Alameda delegation, made the following report:

Mr. PRESIDENT: The Alameda delegation, to whom was referred Assembly Bill No. 349-An Act to provide for the building of a bridge and roadway across the Estuary of San Antonio, in the County of Alameda-have had the same under consideration, and now respectfully report, that said Act was prepared under the direction of the Board of Supervisors of Alameda County, to enable them to rebuild the bridge over the San Antonio Creek, on the main road between Oakland and San Leandro; that said bridge is several hundred feet in length and is now in a dangerous condition; that it is necessary that the Supervisors should have the power asked for with the least possible delay, and the undersigned, therefore, recommend the passage of the bill.
