Mr. Saunders, from the San Francisco delegation, made the following reports:

Mr. PRESIDENT: The San Francisco delegation, to whom was referred Senate Bill No. 483-An Act to authorize the Superintendent of Public Streets, Highways and Squares of San Francisco to issue an assessment to Michael Conniff for street work done by him-having duly consid ered the same, report the same back to the Senate, with the following amendment: In section one, line four, page two, strike out the words "and directed," and recommend that the bill pass as amended.

Having considered Assembly Bill No. 97-An Act relating to the Home of the Inebriate of San Francisco, and to prescribe the powers and duties of the Board of Managers and the officers thereof-report the same back to the Senate with the following amendment: Strike out, in section four, line two, page two, commencing with the word "a," all down to and including the word "associations," in same section, line three, page three, and insert in lieu thereof the word "power," and recommend that the bill, as amended, pass.

Mr. PRESIDENT: The San Francisco delegation, to whom was referred Senate Bill No. 614-An Act to establish and define the powers and duties of the Secretary of the Board of Education of the City and County of San Francisco-have had the same under consideration, and beg leave to report the same back to the Senate with amendments, and recommend that the amendments be adopted and that the bill pass as amended.

Mr. PRESIDENT: The San Francisco delegation, to whom was referred Assembly Bill No. 457-An Act to authorize the Board of Supervisors of the City and County of San Francisco to open and grade Market

street in said city, from the intersection of said street with Valencia street to its intersection with Seventeenth street, and to condemn private property for the roadway of said street-have had the same under consideration, and beg leave to report the same back to the Senate and respectfully recommend its passage.

Mr. PRESIDENT: A majority of the San Francisco delegation, to whom was referred Assembly Bill No. 362-An Act to regulate the distribution of the Police Fund of the City and County of San Francisco-have bad the same under consideration and report the bill back to the Senate with an amendment, and recommend that the amendment be adopted and the bill pass as amended

Also, Assembly Bill No. 282-An Act concerning certain ordinances of the Board of Supervisors of the City and County of San Francisco and other matters-have duly considered the same and report the bill back to the Senate without recommendation.

Also, Assembly Bill No. 433-An Act to amend section nine of an Act entitled an Act to amend an Act entitled an Act amendatory of article fourth of an Act entitled an Act to repeal the several charters of the City of San Francisco, to establish the boundaries of the City and County of San Francisco and to consolidate the government thereof, approved the nineteenth day of April, eighteen hundred and fifty-six, repealing sections thirty-six to sixty-four, inclusive, and Acts and parts of Acts amendatory and supplementary thereof, and substituting this Act for said article four, approved the twenty-fifth day of April, eighteen hundred and sixty-two, approved March twenty-sixth, A. D. eighteen hundred and sixty-eight-having considered the same, report the bill back and recommend its passage

And having considered Assembly Bill No. 558-An Act to provide for the construction of a street railroad within the City and County of San Francisco-report the same back to the Senate without recommendation. SAUNDERS, for Delegation.

Thompson, all of the City and County of San Francisco-have had the same under consideration, respectfully report the same back to the Senate and recommend their passage.

Also, Assembly Bill No. 187-An Act concerning the office of the County Clerk of the City and County of San Francisco-having duly considered the same, report the bill back and recommend its passage. SAUNDERS, for Delegation.

Mr. PRESIDENT: The Committee on Corporations, to whom was referred Assembly Bill No. 568-An Act to incorporate the Town of Brooklyn and

to define and establish the boundary line between said town and the City of Oakland-have had the same under consideration, report the bill back with amendments, and the majority of the committee recommend its passage as amended.

Also, Assembly Bill No. 652-An Act to divide the City of Oakland into wards and to provide for the holding of elections therein-report the same back without recommendation.

Also, Assembly Bill No. 613-An Act to incorporate the Fire Depart ment of the City of San José-report the same back and recommend that it be passed.

Also, Senate Bill No. 508-An Act to authorize William B. Swearinger, his associates and assigns, to construct and keep a turnpike or wagon road in the Counties of Siskiyou and Lassen, in this State-report the same back without recommendation.

Also, Senate Bill No. 566-An Act to provide for the formation of corporations for certain purposes-report the same back with the recommendation that it be passed.

Also, Assembly Bill No. 291-An Act amendatory of and supplementary to an Act to incorporate the City of Nevada, approved April nineteenth, eighteen hundred and fifty six-report the same back and recommend that it be passed.

Also, Senate Bill No. 128-An Act to legalize and confirm certain grants and sales of town lands by the Board of Trustees of the Town of Santa Barbara and by the Mayor and Common Council of the City of

Santa Barbara, made since the passage of the Act of March thirty-first, eighteen hundred and sixty-six.

Also, Senate Bill No 406-An Act supplemental to an Act entitled an Act to authorize the Board of Supervisors of the City and County of San Francisco to modify the grades of certain streets, approved March thirtieth, eighteen hundred and sixty-eight.

Also, Senate Bill No. 223-An Act to provide for the improvement of public parks in the City of San Francisco.

Also, Senate Bill No. 644-An Act to provide for the payment of the salary of certain officers in the County of Shasta.

Also, Senate Bill No. 506—An Act to authorize the sale of certain salt marsh and tide lands in the County of Marin.

Neal to sell and convey all the interest, property and estate of Maria Neal and Josefa Neal, minor children of said Joshua A. Neal and his deceased wife, Angela Bernal Neal, in certain lands in Alameda County and report the same back with amendments, and recommend the adoption of the amendments and the passage of the bill as amended.
